Pot-Stuffed Pierogies? Cannabis-Infused Restaurant May Open in Bethlehem; Bring on the Space Shakes

I don’t know how long that sign has been up, but this is what is promised for Stefko Boulevard.

A “cannabis infused eatery” may be coming to Bethlehem.

That means it will cook with marijuana, potentially leading to an interesting aroma in the air.

A sign at 2115A Stefko Boulevard, next to Stefko Pizza, says Infusions is coming soon. I could find little else out about the business. The location is eight blocks from The Apothecarium marijuana dispensary on Stefko Boulevard.

Restaurants using “infusion” (the introduction of a new element) in their names have opened elsewhere, and there are pop-up eateries that cook with marijuana in New York City, but there is an issue right here in Steel City.

Marijuana is only legal for medical purposes in Pennsylvania, and official cards are needed to buy it legally from dispensaries, such as The Apothecarium.

Perhaps in addition to a reservation, diners at Infusion will need to have a medical-marijuana card.

So I will check on this interesting Stefko Boulevard spot and see if there is progress. I’ve seen places touting “space shakes” and “space cakes” that are made with cannabis but only in Amsterdam. Even the last time I drove to Canada, the guy at the border gave us a long and amusing, but unnecessary, lecture on not bringing marijuana into our northern neighbor.

If the restaurant opens, it will be on a strip of fast-food and casual eateries. The 2115 A Stefko location is close to the intersection with Easton Avenue.

The view up Stefko Boulevard from the promised location of Infusions. If patrons stay hungry — certainly possible — they will have just about every fast-food option available nearby, plus Pizza Como.

im gonna tell your right now thats going to be illegal, even with a medical card you can only take what is prescribed by the dispensary. Someone wants to go to jail with in the first week theyre open. BTW when you cook with it the right way it doesnt smell at all. The flower is turned into oil and infused in the food.

I’m going to check on the method. I can’t see how it would be legal but somebody representing ownership will comment. It says … cannabis-infused … but perhaps there’s an explanation that makes sense and is legal.

I’m aware of it. What I didn’t know was the connection between the two and I wasn’t going to assume any. I’m going to talk with ownership of the Stefko enterprise soon.

And by the way, I don’t need the advice as kindly, no doubt, as it was meant.
