PPL Corp.’s charitable foundation has given the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce $10,000 for the chamber’s 2027 leadership program.
The Allentown-based utility’s gift will support the Chamber’s 37th leadership class. The Schuylkill Chamber Foundation’s program has 726 graduates.
“Through a structured curriculum that connects participants with regional employers, provides classroom instruction, introduces them to civic organizations and hands-on opportunities, the Schuylkill Leadership program equips emerging leaders with the skills, networks and county-specific knowledge needed to drive economic growth in Schuylkill County,” Robert S. Carl, Jr., president and chief executive of the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce and Schuylkill Chamber Foundation, said in a press release.
The PPL Foundation provides grants to non-profit groups in regions the utility serves in Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.

SCHUYLKILL CHAMBER FOUNDATION RECEIVES GRANT FROM PPL FOUNDATION FOR SCHUYLKILL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
Pottsville, Pa. (July 29, 2026) – The Schuylkill Chamber Foundation is pleased to announce it has received a $10,000 grant from the PPL Foundation. These funds will support the 2027 Schuylkill Leadership program.
The Schuylkill Leadership program plays a vital role in Schuylkill Chamber’s broader commitment to strengthening the local workforce and building the next generation of business and community leaders. The program’s thirty sixth year concluded in June 2026. Twenty-one graduates completed the program, joining 726 other program graduates.

The Schuylkill Chamber Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization that was established in 2008 to further enhance the development of Schuylkill County through leadership development, youth engagement programs, and entrepreneurship. The Schuylkill Chamber Foundation supports and promotes scholarships for programs that provide training and development for Schuylkill County’s business community and youth.
Carl said the Chamber looks forward to the Schuylkill Leadership’s thirty seventh program year in 2027.
The PPL Foundation announced the recipients of its grants, awarding $200,000 in grants to support 30 organizations working to enhance inclusion and belonging for better outcomes for all.
