The two-lane Black River Road Bridge in Lower Saucon Township won’t be ready by the time school starts, the township said today.
The goal had been to complete the new bridge before classes began, but that is off “due to a delay in the production and delivery of the bridge beams,” according to a township announcement that cites the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDot).
So for now, the detours will continue and traffic, including school buses, will have to take the long way. The bridge is east of Route 378, near the St. Luke’s Hospice.
