Golden Kettle Restaurant to Hold Grand Opening at Alvernia Campus in Pottsville

The Golden Kettle will hold a grand opening Thursday in Pottsville.

The restaurant will be inside the Alvernia University Pottsville CollegeTowne building. Alvernia, based in Reading, Berks County, opened its Schuylkill County location in 2023.

The Golden Kettle is operated by Stephen Smith. He won the Pottsville Area Development Corp.’s competition, landing a two-year lease to operate the Alvernia campus space.

The restaurant’s signature meals are macaroni and cheese bowls. The Golden Kettle also serves slow-roasted meat, sandwiches, specialty coffee and other drinks.

The grand opening is a free event and open to the public.

Schuylkill Chamber to Celebrate Grand Opening of The Golden Kettle

POTTSVILLE, PA – The Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce will host a grand opening and ribbon cutting for The Golden Kettle on Thursday, September 3, at 4:00 p.m. Members of the media are invited to attend and cover the celebration, meet owner Stephen Smith, experience the new restaurant, and learn more about this exciting addition to the Pottsville dining scene.

Located inside the Alvernia University Pottsville CollegeTowne building, The Golden Kettle brings a unique twist to the local dining experience with its signature mac and cheese bowls. The menu also features slow-roasted meats, sandwiches, specialty coffee, and other drinks, offering a variety of options for customers.

Stephen Smith is bringing The Golden Kettle concept to life after winning Launch Pottsville, a business competition by the Pottsville Area Development Corporation that awarded him a two-year lease for the Alvernia campus kitchen space. The grand opening marks an exciting milestone for Smith as he officially opens the doors to his new business in downtown Pottsville.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. at 500 Progress Ave. in Pottsville. The event is free and open to the public.
