The Bethlehem Area School District Board of Directors will meet at 6 p.m. today to review a fact-finder’s report and recommendation on negotiations with Teamsters Local #773, which represents clerical workers in the schools.
The district’s last contract with the union expired June 30, according to the BASD website.
“The parties have been in formal negotiations since October 1, 2025, and have exchanged numerous proposals without resolution,” the district said.
“The Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board appointed a fact-finder on July 21,” and a final report was issued Aug. 31. The district has 10 days to tell the Labor Relations Board if it accepts or rejects the recommendations.
Fact-finding reports can provide a basis for new agreements with unions. If one or both parties rejects the report, “the findings of fact and recommendations of appointed fact-finders” may be published, according to the Labor Relations Board.
The Board of Directors of the Bethlehem Area School District will meet at 6 p.m. today, Sept. 8, in the auditorium of East Hills Middle School.

The collective bargaining agreement between the Teamsters Local #773 and the Bethlehem Area School District
expired on June 30, 2026. The parties have been in formal negotiations since October 1, 2025, and have exchanged numerous proposals without resolution.
The Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board appointed a Fact-Finder on July 21, 2026. A fact-finding hearing was held on August 13, 2026, and the final report was issued on August 31, 2026. The District has 10 days to notify the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board of their decision to accept or reject the recommendations.

The Bethlehem Area School District Board of School Directors will hold a Special Bd. Mtg. on September 8 at 6 PM, in the Auditorium at East Hills Middle School. The purpose of the meeting is to conduct general business and take official action regarding the Fact Finder’s Report and Recommendation issued in the matter of collective bargaining with the Teamsters Local No. 773.
