Apartments are sprouting up in Bethlehem like mushrooms after a rainy day.

The latest project has been years in the making. A former single-family ranch house at 2650 Linden St., across from Holy Saviour Cemetery (yes, they spell it with the “u”) is down and rental units are going up.

Macada Partners, led by David Ronca, will put up a two-story building with eight apartments and 16 parking spaces, according to plans submitted to the city and discussed at a 2024 Planning Commission meeting.

Macada Partners bought the property in 2022 for $175,000, according to Northampton County records. That price looks like a bargain right now.

Linden Street has drawn investor interest for years. A few hundred yards to the north, 36 apartments are going up where another ranch house stood, at the corner of Butztown Road and Linden. Farther north are the Linden Lofts, 61 apartments at the former Stefano’s, and just a little up the road are the Taylor Court apartments.
