Allentown’s Planning Commission will see proposals for 1,012 apartments total at its March 10 meeting.
Four big complexes are due for review at the meeting:
— 301 North Front St., a sixteen-story, 360-unit apartment building with 21,550 square feet of retail space,
— 51 N. Front St., the RS Residences, a seven-story 210-unit apartment building with 4,500 square feet of retail space.
— 2 Allen St., a seven-story, 200-unit apartment mixed-use building with 18,000 square feet of retail space.
— 115 Riverside Drive, the Park Lofts: a seven-story, 242-unit apartment building with 13,300 square feet of retail space.
If everything goes ahead, there will be lots of construction along the Lehigh River.
The commission will also see a proposal for a Dunkin’ at 902 Union Blvd.
I have never adjusted to the name Dunkin’. It was a dumb idea to change it from Dunkin’ Donuts.
Here’s a link that provides a link to the agenda. The meeting will be in Council Chambers at City Hall, 435 Hamilton St., starting at 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10. Allentown has always been an outlier by holding planning commission meetings in the afternoon.
The Dunkin’ name change makes sense because their donuts stopped being decent probably 20+ years ago at this point. Currently they are about the worst you can buy.

I haven’t had one in more than 20 years. I did have coffee from there awhile ago and it was alright.
