Land for a Tempo by Hilton hotel in south Bethlehem has been acquired for $2.4 million.
Northampton County’s website recorded the sale of 14-18 W. Third St. as of April 15, and adjacent property for another $200,000.
Hilton has 25 brands. Tempo is, according to the company’s website, “an approachable lifestyle brand curated to serve a growing segment of “modern achievers” who seek a hotel experience that reflects their ambition.”
That doesn’t mean a whole lot, but the hotels look nice on the Internet. I’ve stayed in various Hiltons, but never a Tempo.
This is how Hilton describes a Tempo hotel in New York City: “Our stylish hotel is in Times Square, steps from restaurants, shops and Broadway theaters. Central Park, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center, and Grand Central Station are within one mile. Our Outdoor Terrace overlooks the heart of the city.”
Plans for the Bethlehem Tempo have been approved earlier by City Council. In 2024, the proposal was for a six-story 141-room hotel.
County records list the buyer of the $2.4 million land as Bethlehem Tempo, a limited liability corporation based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and the seller as Patriot Ventures LLC.
The property records also show that Bethlehem Tempo acquired properties adjacent to 14-18 W. Third St. for $200,000 from the Bethlehem Economic Development Corp.
