Lafayette College has hired Ben O’Brien from the University of Scranton as its women’s basketball coach.

O’Brien took Scranton to the Division 3 title game this year. He went 117-7 in four years as head coach.

That’s an astounding 94% winning percentage.

He was head coach at Dunmore High School for 14 years before taking the Scranton job.

He succeeds Kia Damon-Olson at Lafayette. She was not brought back after eight years at Lafayette.

Lafayette’s women’s team has had but one winning season in the 21st Century. The Leopards play Division 1 basketball in the Patriot League.

O’Brien is the first male coach for the Lady Leopards.
