— Jeff Ward, Lehigh Valley News Briefs
There are many $1 million and up single-family homes in the Lehigh Valley, but townhouses typically remain a cheaper option and sometimes a starter residence.
That may change. Just south of the Valley in Bucks County, Toll Brothers is promoting “280 North at Doylestown” with 18 townhouses starting in the upper $900,000 price range.
Doylestown has some advantages over the Lehigh Valley. It is closer to Philadelphia and it has passenger rail, something the Lehigh Valley will talk about forever but probably never get. The town is in the Central Bucks School District, which helps.
Still, does that add up to a seven-figure townhouse? This is Doylestown, not New York City or Philadelphia.
From Toll Brothers: “Home shoppers will enjoy versatile home designs with included features such as elevators, flex spaces, open-concept kitchens, rooftop terraces with expansive views, and two-car garages.”
Homes will have four stories and be in walking distance of downtown Doylestown, a popular shopping and dining area.
The median price of a U.S. home recently was $403,889, according to Redfin. The Doylestown homes will be about 2.5 times that.
For anybody with $1 million to spend on a townhouse, here is a link to the Toll Brothers statement and below is a cut-and-paste version:
