Dorney Park will have a Halloween haunt inspired by “The Blair Witch Project,” owner Six Flags announced today.

Meanwhile, Six Flags (NYSE:FUN) investors face the real horror of a share price that keeps falling.

Today, the shares traded at $15.72 as of noon, down 68 cents. The 52-week high is $27.37. The shares have floundered almost since the completion of the 2024 combination of Six Flags and Cedar Fair, former owner of Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom in South Whitehall Township.

The Blair Witch Project is an interesting choice for the fall theme. The film is one of those “found video” pseudo-documentaries. It was released in 1999, and perhaps quite a few young park visitors have never heard of it.

Here’s the Six Flags promotion for Dorney’s Halloween event:

Step into the legend of The Blair Witch Project and venture deep into the mysteries of the Black
Hills Forest. In near-total darkness, you’ll navigate environments inspired by the world of the
franchise, including winding trails, abandoned camps, eerie ritual sites, and the infamous Rustin
Parr House as the forest itself seems to close in. Reality unravels within — experience Blair Witch:
No Signal.

Here is a link to the Six Flags statement today.

The company brought in John Reilly as its new chief executive last year. He has since changed much of the top management and sold some parks.

Amusement-park operators have been adding events in the off-season to make the business a little less seasonal.

Six Flags operates 20 amusement parks, 14 water parks and nine resorts in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, and it operates a park in Saudi Arabia.

Disclosure: I own shares in Six Flags. “The horror … the horror … “
