The Easton Event Center, a space equipped for parties and other events, is opening in the Palmer Park Mall.
The center’s website promotes the business as “A brand-new event venue in the heart of the Lehigh Valley— built for weddings, quinceañeras, birthdays, corporate events, and every occasion in between.” Quinceañeras are 15th birthday parties for girls, popular in Hispanic and Caribbean cultures.
The amenities include tables and chairs, bar, accessible entrance and restrooms, a suite for getting ready, HD projector and screen, Wi-Fi and lots of free parking at the shopping center in Palmer Township. Customers can choose their own caterer or ask the center for a recommendation.
The parking is a big selling point on the website: “Located conveniently at Palmer Park Mall, we offer something rare for event venues: massive, complimentary parking right at our doorstep. Your guests will never have to hunt for a spot or pay for a garage.”
The center is already booking events, according to the website. The business’s founder is Sanju Choudhury. He and his wife Renee have relocated from Idaho to the Lehigh Valley, the center’s website says.
The Easton Event Center is in Suite B18 in the Palmer Park Mall. The center makes for an interesting use of mall space.
The Palmer Park Mall is clean and orderly, and it has a nostalgic look. Take away the five mobile-phone stores and it has the feel of the 1980s and John Hughes teen films of that time, such as “The Breakfast Club.”
The mall’s anchor store is Boscov’s. It’s also home to a jeweler, Indian restaurant, Bath & Body Works, an Italian restaurant and other stores.
For more information on the Easton Event Center, see its webpage.
The mall refuses to post an interactive map, so the location doesn’t mean anything until someone goes there (a project since the changes in LANtaBus service) and takes a picture of their map kiosk inside the main entry.
