PPL Pays $2 Million for Jaindl Land in Lower Nazareth Township

The energy company has bought land off Route 191 that was the proposed site of a warehouse.

PPL Corp. has paid $2 million for an 11.7-acre property in Lower Nazareth where Jaindl Land Co. wanted to build a warehouse.

The 4215 Lonat Dr. acreage is on the east side of Route 191, behind a physician’s office, a truck terminal and near Kitchen Magic.

At $2 million, the price works out to $171,000 per acre.

Northampton County recorded the sale of the farmland to PPL on Sept. 28.

The seller was Northampton Farms, a limited liability corporation that is part of the Jaindl company. The proposed warehouse was never approved by Lower Nazareth.

PPL acquired property in South Whitehall earlier this year, near the site of a planned data center.
