Lower Saucon to Review Plan for New Fire Rescue Building

July 20, 2026

— Jeff Ward, Lehigh Valley News Briefs

Lower Saucon Fire Rescue plans to raze their Southeastern Fire Station and put up a new one.

The township will review that proposal at a meeting Thursday.

The fire company ” is proposing to redevelop their existing Southeastern Fire Station at 2687 Wassergass Road in Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County. The development proposes to demolish the existing garage and social hall and construct a 3,600 SF fire station and a 3,168 SF truck bay to house their vehicles. The redevelopment will ultimately decrease the impervious coverage of the site,” according to the township’s Planning Commission agenda.

Lower Saucon Fire Rescue serves the entire township. It was formed via consolidation of four organizations: Southeastern, Se-Wy-Co, Leithsville and Steel City Volunteer fire companies.

The Lower Saucon Township Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 23, in town hall, 3700 Old Philadelphia Pike. The meeting will also be shown on YouTube.
