Another day, another 52-week low for Six Flags.

Shares in the operator of amusement parks fell below $11 today. That’s less than half of the $27.37 high in the last 52 weeks.

Six Flags also announced the closing of X2, a roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California, citing “guest confidence.”

“After almost 20 years, we have decided to permanently retire X2,” Magic Mountain President Brian Oerding said on the park’s blog today. The ride opened in 2008.

The closing of X2 comes after multiple reports of injuries, according to the Associated Press.

“While X2 consistently passed a multitude of safety tests, we have decided to close the ride because we believe it’s the right thing to do. Ride safety is a cornerstone of our business, and when we see guest confidence affected, we take it seriously,” Oerding said.

Shares of Six Flags (NYSE:FUN), owner of Dorney Park in South Whitehall Township, finished regular-hour trading today at $10.86.

Six Flags and Cedar Fair combined in 2024. The company is dealing with $5 billion in debt and poor operating results.
